Summer Reading Day 26: Our book today was another from our fabulous local library, Just One Bite by Lola Schaefer. It's a fun book that shows kids, through cute illustrations, how big a variety of different animals' bites are. It's a big book with pull out pages, and JJ loved that. Bow-Wow Birthday (Lee Wardlaw)
Summer Reading Day 25: Today's pick was Bow-Wow Birthday by Lee Wardlaw. Hate to say it, but JJ's expression about sums it up. While the premise of a little girl throwing a birthday party for her elder dog is sweet, the story itself was too long and the child characters were ill-mannered and irritating. Definitely … Continue reading Bow-Wow Birthday (Lee Wardlaw)

We … Continue reading Dr. Seuss’s Happy Birthday, Baby! (Dr. Suess)

It's a short but sweet story about a little one making a cake and getting all their animals friends to help provide the ingredients. Adorable illustrations … Continue reading It’s My Birthday (Helen Oxenbury)
Everywhere Babies (Susan Meyers)
Summer Reading Day 22: Today's selection was Everywhere Babies by Susan Meyers, an adorable story about all the things babies all around the world do in their first year. It's an absolutely charming story and the illustrations are great, plus it's very inclusive (families of all shapes, sizes and colors are represented). Loved it!
