Book Mail! It’s hard to believe that Sherri Duskey Rinker and Tom Lichtenheld’s delightful Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site was first published fifteen years ago! This simple bedtime story that follows a group of construction vehicles as they tuck in for a cozy sleep is just as charming today as it was in 2011, and has inspired a whole host of sequels and spinoffs for little fans of big machines.

This week, we were so excited to receive a care package from our friends at Chronicle Kids that features two titles inspired by the original! Construction Site: Firefight!, written by Rinker and illustrated by AG Ford, is the newest title in the series, and it introduces readers to the many types of vehicles that work together when responding to a fire emergency. Little ones can meet Fire Engine, Foam Truck, Command Vehicle, and more as they rush to rescue the construction site from a blaze.

For creative little truck lovers, Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site Sticker & Activity Book, illus. by Helen Morgan, revisits all the fan-favorites of the series as they star in search-and-find puzzles, coloring pages, mazes, and more. Filled with interactive elements and surprises to explore, this is a perfect boredom-buster for plane trips or slow summer days.
Big thanks to Chronicle Kids for sending these our way!
