Did you know that it is Worldwide Creativity and Innovation Week? Inspired by the work and life of Leonardo da Vinci, this week celebrates the new ideas, innovations, and collaborations that improve the world and the people living on it.
Naturally, that makes it a great time to highlight some STEM books for kiddos! One of our upcoming favs is The Spark Experiment by Matthew K. Manning and Matthew Loux, a middle grade graphic novel that blends fiction and nonfiction for plenty of STEM exploration. Following young neighbors David and Marta as they attempt to rescue David’s mom from the Micro Universe, chapters are interspersed with 18 real-life DIY experiments that readers can try for themselves, letting them spark their own imagination and creativity!

Big thanks to Andrews McMeel for sending us a copy of this STEM-tastic graphic novel, which hits shelves on April 28th!
