Book Mail! Not going to lie, this might be one of our favorite PR packages of all time. Fans of children’s literature are likely familiar with the work of the incomparable Christian Robinson, Caldecott and Coretta Scott King Honoree and the author and illustrator behind dozens of modern classic picture books.

His newest work is the adorable Dad, a heartfelt look at all the different ways to be a father. Following dads and their little ones from all across the animal kingdom, Dad looks at how being a father can mean being strong, nurturing, brave, flawed, and—most importantly—human.

With a lot of fatherhood books portraying dads as nearly superhuman, Dad is the rare book that acknowledges that dads have bad days too: they make mistakes, lose their tempers, and even cry… and all of that is okay. I absolutely adored this book, and it was made all the more special by the amazing tote bag, poster, and postcard that our friends at Balzer + Bray sent along with our copy.
