Following up on the delightful first entry in this new series, It’s Almost Time For… Halloween!, Oso and Lnight invited readers to meet another cheerful child and their trusty plushy companion (last time it was a bear, this time a bunny).
Bouncy rhyming text and vibrant illustrations lead readers through the child’s instructions on how to prepare for the upcoming holiday… with subtle hints that at least one of the characters is a little mixed up about which holiday they’re prepping for. This leads to a delightful punchline that little ones will enjoy, and even a sweet cameo for fans of the first title. I’m also personally a big fan of how inclusive the artwork is: the narrator is part of a mixed-race family, and characters of all shapes, sizes, ages, and abilities feature in crowd scenes. A fantastic follow-up that perfectly captures the holiday spirit!
