Happy Candy Corn Day! Candy Corn Christmas by Jonathan Fenske

That’s right, October 30th is National Candy Corn Day! While this seasonal sweet can be a little controversial, we are firmly pro-candy corn at the Baby Bookworm household, especially when candy corn and books combine.

In Candy Corn Christmas by Jonathan Fenske, the titular treats have been relegated to the pantry post-spooky season, waiting alongside other autumnal flavors like cranberry sauce. Yet as the winter holidays roll around, they can’t help but be enticed by the sights and smells of Christmas merrymaking! Is there a place in the Yuletide season for the candy corn?

This read was truly delightful, and makes for a perfect transition between post-Halloween and winter festivities. The candy corn are charmingly cute, and a cameo by a Christmas icon teaches an important lesson about inclusion and celebrating holidays in whatever way brings folks together.

Thanks so much to SimonKIDS for sending us a copy of this one!
