Black History Month: Fantasy, Folklore & Science Fiction

It’s the last week of Black History Month, to finish it out with fanfare, and we’re celebrating a different aspect of Black children’s literature for the next few days. Today’s theme: fantasy and folklore!

From traditional folktales to fairy tale reimaginings, from modern fantasies to Afrofuturism, these are just a few of the marvelous books that embody the rich tradition and contemporary landscape of Black narratives in fantasy and science fiction.
