BORED (Felicita Sala)

With many schools closed this week due to the winter storm, it’s likely that quite a few caregivers are hearing the dreaded words of cabin-fevered kids: “I’m BOOOOORED!”

Rita, the highly relatable protagonist of Bored by Felicita Sala, knows that feeling all too well! She is practically catatonically bored and can’t think of a single thing to distract her from her boredom. That is, until her boredom gives way to imagination, then ideas, then plans! Suddenly, come dinner time, Rita is busy as can be!

This book was such a delight, and a great lesson in how boredom—with the right mindset—can lead to inspiration. Thanks so much to Neal Porter Books and Holiday House for sending us a copy!
