School’s out in a few days, and the winter festivities are reaching their crescendo, so what better way to spend quality time with little ones than a little holiday baking?

My husband is an avid baker and swears by King Arthur Baking Co. flours, so we were really excited to get a copy of the Sweet & Salty!: King Arthur Baking Company’s Cookbook for Young Bakers by Jessica Battilana with Yekaterina Boytsova, photographed by Rick Holbrook and illustrated by Jordan Sondler.

This compendium offers eighty (80!) delicious baking recipes that range from sweet to savory, from cookies and cakes to bread and pretzels, plus so much more. There are also some awesome global recipes like piroshki and pupusas, and all of the included treats are designed to appeal to the majority of kids’ taste buds, favoring familiar flavors and accessible recipes. We can’t recommend this one enough: my baking duo is already bookmarking the recipes they want to try next!
