We’re less than a week from Halloween, and we couldn’t be starting off this week’s picks with a more delightful spooky read. Following up Beetle and the Hollowbones, the second title in this middle grade graphic novel series is back with a delightful world full of goblins, skeletons, dragons, vampires, and much more.

As young goblin Beetle and sorceress skeleton Kat explore their seeping relationship, they are also preparing for the excitement of Carnival, when the Great Dragons will arrive. Yet when the dragons fail to show, Beetle and Kat set out to solve the mystery, all while dealing with overbearing parents, blossoming romance, and Beetle’s struggles with her growing goblin powers.
