Happy International Artists Day!

On a day designed to celebrate creative expression, we wanted to spotlight a few favorite books about creativity that we’ve been super into lately!

To start, Sometimes You Find a Dragon by Viviane Schwarz is a warm and wonderful ode to creative inspiration. Encouraging readers of all ages to find the hidden dragons of the world by searching in paintbrushes, everyday objects, words, and much more. It’s a great read for getting kids in a creative mood that empowers them to start making art and see what they discover along the way.

Next, we have two titles from the Mo Willems Workshop, Make Your Mark! and An Elephant & Piggie Pal-a-Palooza! (coming 11/25). If your creative little ones have never tried a Mo Willems activity book, you absolutely HAVE TO! More than just coloring or puzzle books, these books are filled with narratives, interactive elements, tear-out activities, and tons of Mo Willems’s signature characters and silly humor.

We especially loved Make Your Mark!, which came with four double-sided Crayola markers and tons of fun to discover. The kiddo actually asked to skip her tablet time to finish the activities because she was having so much fun creating with Pigeon, Duckling, Leonardo the Monster, Elephant, Piggie, and more.

Happy International Artists’ Day, and big thank you to Union Square Kids and Candlewick for sending us these awesome and inspiring books!
