Beverley the bat has done everything to make his spooky home the perfectly creepy spot for guests to stop by… but none ever do! So when a human family moves in, he pulls out all the stops to convince them to stay: the beguiling fragrance of rotten egg, a steaming dinner of Bolognese de millipede, and a welcome message that was DEFINITELY NOT painted in blood. Wait, why don’t they look happy to visit?

For a spooky family like ours, this was a genuine delight. There’s something so charming about Beverley’s earnest desire to make his guests comfortable, even if he goes about it in the wrong manner (for humans, anyway). We especially identified with one of the kids in the family, who was genuinely happy with Beverley’s overtures—we see you, fellow creepy kid.
