Our pick for today is a favorite from this year, a middle grade retelling of Frankenstein with miles of heart and depth. When the wicked nephew of Professor Hardacre – Stitch’s creator – takes control of the lab, the titular reanimated hero and his friend Henry must escape and find their way in a world that only views them as monsters.

With poignant themes of friendship, acceptance, and humanity, this read makes a fantastic introduction to Gothic literature, and we highly recommend it.
