It’s the first day of October and the first official day of Spooky Season! To celebrate, we’re bringing you a brand new spooky kids’ read every day this month, starting with Pennies, written by Lora Senf and illustrated by Alfredo Cáceres.

In this gothic middle grade adventure, it’s summer 1921, and four friends must contend with inter-dimensional portals, mysterious disappearances, and save their town! A prequel entry in Senf’s Blight Harbor series, fans of The Clackity and its sequels can get all the backstory on the spooky town, and new fans can be drawn into its mysteries!
