Hello, everybody! Today, we read Have You Seen Elephant? by David Barrow, a very fun book about an elephant who is surprisingly skilled at hide-and-seek.
One day, a little boy and his friend, an elephant, decide to play a game of hide-and-seek. The elephant prefaces this with a warning, though: he’s a very skilled hider! From there, the book follows the boy’s search for his hidden friend – who is hilariously obvious in his attempts to the reader alone!
This was a really fun book, because it lets the audience be in on the joke: the elephant is far from hidden in the colorful illustrations, yet no one seems to notice him, say, hiding under a lampshade or behind a small sapling. It would definitely make for an enjoyable read for preschool children, who could easily find the crafty elephant’s hiding spots. The length is great for baby bookworms too, and JJ had a blast reading it. We liked this one! Baby Bookworm approved.
